426 turn out for Orthopedic Associates’ 6th Annual Fun Run
10K, 5K and 1-mile races held Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013
PORT HURON, Mich. (Aug. 21, 2013) – On Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, 426 people participated in Orthopedic Associates of Port Huron’s 6th Annual Fun Run. The community event, which included a 10K and 5K (walk and run) and 1-mile fun run, awarded runners in all age categories as well as overall winners and the top three male and female finishers.
Curt Silverthorn of Yale and Alana Koepf of Avoca finished first overall in the 5K race, both receiving first place medals, and David Currie of Sarnia and Amy McNabb of Emmett placed first overall in the 10K race, both receiving first place medals. “We’re thankful for the community’s enthusiastic support of this event each year,” says Dr. Wilmont R. Kreis, sports medicine doctor at Orthopedic Associates of Port Huron. “It’s wonderful to see so many patients and community members participating.”
Additionally, Orthopedic Associates of Port Huron provided incentives to teams and schools with at least 10 Fun Run participants. For those teams, Orthopedic Associates of Port Huron donated $5 per student athlete to the school or team organization. Runners also received free biomechanical foot assessments and shoewear recommendations from the Orthopedic Associates of Port Huron physical therapists.
