Like traditional approaches to knee replacement surgery, Mako SmartRobotics knee replacement is used to treat degenerative knee conditions by replacing the damaged portions of the knee joint with a prosthetic joint, reducing overall knee pain and restoring function and mobility.
Dr. Braaksma received his medical degree from Wayne State University in Detroit. He completed an internship and orthopedic surgery residency at Grand Rapids Medical Education Partner – MSU in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Later, he completed a foot and ankle fellowship at Harborview Medical Center – University of Washington as well as an adult hip and knee reconstruction surgery fellowship at Cleveland Clinic in Miami.
