Patient Reviews: Dr. Scott Heithoff
Scott M. Heithoff, D.O.
The following are reviews from patients of Dr. Heithoff.
“I had an epidural for lower back pain. Everything went great. The staff is superb and put you at ease. It's actually a nice experience.”
– Cindy F.“Excellent.”
– Roger B.“Wonderful. He's compassionate, trustworthy, and has an excellent bedside manner. He helped ease my fears and helped me to overcome my injuries quickly and safely. He took the time to explain each test, X-ray, and to discuss what the plan of care was with each discipline and he coordinated his care thoroughly in a timely manner. As a home care registered nurse, I recommend his care and this company to each of my clients seeking orthopedic evaluation and treatments.”
– Ashley B.“I had my right hip replaced. There were no complications and my recovery was without incident. Five months later I am almost back to normal. I will definitely go with Dr. Heithoff if I need to have the left one done at a future date.”
– Timothy J.“Dr. Heithoff has performed three different surgeries for me; from trigger thumb repair, to repairing a meniscus tear in my knee and total knee replacement. I couldn't ask for a better doctor. He's performed three surgeries for me, including repair of my trigger thumb (which works great now), repaired a meniscus tear and then my recent knee replacement. He's humble, he's extremely professional, and caring all at the same time. He answered all of my questions I've ever had and actually has drawn pictures for me to better understand. He also takes as much time as I need to discuss treatment options with me. Jennifer Hodney is a physician assistant who assisted Dr. Heithoff with my total knee replacement. When I met with her prior to my surgery, she too was willing to answer any questions I had, she was compassionate and encouraged me to ask questions as well. I'd recommend them both if you require any of their services. Excellent!!!!!”
– Betsy“I had my left hip replaced. The pain I experienced prior to surgery was interfering with my life. I have never experienced the rapid recovery from surgery that I did with my hip. It was nothing short of a miracle. I tell everyone that asks exactly that. Dr. Heithoff was truly incredible and I wouldn't hesitate to go back if problems develop in my other hip. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me a pain-free existence.”
– Claudia I.“Excellent and thorough, right to the point, tells you like it is, works with you, good doctor and staff. ”
– Margaret K.“Very happy with contact & care by OAPH. Wouldn't go anywhere else.”
– Cheryl M.“I am very glad I'm a patient of this practice! As I'm getting older, I will have orthopedic needs in the future & I consider OA an asset to continued health. I can't say enough about physical therapy's role in healthcare...thank you for referring me to that treatment modality.”
– Cheryl M.“Very thorough and caring. Explained exactly what was going on and what steps they were going to take.”
– Susan C.“Total right hip replacement. Everything went well during and after the surgery and my recovery has been on track. Dr. Heithoff is a very competent and caring physician and I would recommend him to others.”
– Timothy J.“Dr. Scott Heithoff has treated both of my kids on different occasions. I appreciate how he is with them. He has done ACL replacements on both of my kids and mended a few broken bones. The latest a broken pinky finger. He is kind and I trust his opinion and treatments. I am so thankful for all he and other doctors at Orthopedic Associates have done for us. I can't say enough good.”
– Andrea M.“A fantastic group of dedicated surgeons, physical therapist and office personal. All working together to provide the patient the same kind of security and peace of mind one would find in a support network made up of family members. I have the utmost respect and confidence in the decisions they make on my behalf. I highly recommend them.”
– Frank L.“I am a machinery repairman, I work on industrial machinery. Prior to my surgery, I was experiencing pain in both of my knees. 8 days after surgery I have less pain and more mobility in my left knee. I can't wait to have my right knee repaired so that I can return to work. ”
– Carl D.“Have had 2 great experiences with your staff. First with my knee replacement by Dr. Doss and my son's knee surgery and wrist repair. Always first rate service and friendly atmosphere. Great bedside manner. Would be my first choice if needed in the future. Thank you for the great care!! ”
– Howard C.“Prednisone worked so I could sit and walk again.”
– Alberta K.“My finger is looking and feeling better...I'll be back Nov 2nd for followup...Thanks.”
– Jerry B.“Unfortunately, I have had to come to your offices for too many incidents. I really like the way they have the layout. I've not had to wait long in the offices. I really appreciate that everything is right there on the premises. And best of all, they have been very kind and caring. Thank you all.”
– Marlene E.“On Jan. 26th, I just stood up and experienced searing pain in my knee. Had I known what I know now, I would have gone to Orthopedic Associates of Port Huron as soon as possible. Because I didn't know I could do that, I went to my own doctor and ended up wasting an entire week of time trying to get a diagnosis. On Monday, Feb. 3rd, I saw Dr. Scott Heithoff, who assessed my condition, sent me for an MRI and by Feb. 7th, I was diagnosed and scheduled for surgery to repair my torn meniscus. I had the surgery done on Feb. 25th; everything went amazingly well. The staff at the surgery center was all so accommodating and informative. I had such little pain after surgery, that I never even took one pain pill. I started physical therapy on Feb. 28th and have already been released (March 17th) because I am doing so well. The follow up appointment on March 7th with Dr. Heithoff went great. He released me to go back to my regular exercise routine with caution, of course. I was so impressed with the ease of this surgical procedure and I am glad that I had such a knowledgeable and professional doctor, who took care of the problem with such clarity and skill. Thank you, Dr. Heithoff and everyone at Orthopedic Associates of Port Huron, who have made my life so much easier!”
– Sherry“My surgeon was Dr. Scott Heithoff. He was excellent, did a great job, and replaced my left hip. Then I had physical therapy from Krista Marquardt and she was excellent also. Everyone in the physical therapy department was helpful, kind, patient, and cared about their patients.”
– Pat E.“Thanks for getting me through knee replacement with flying colors. The surgery went well. I was well informed before and after and knew what to expect. The hospital staff was on top of their game and my doctor was the best. Thank you. My surgery was in November and I'm pain free. Thanks. You are the best.”
– Kathy G.“"I have had two operations for torn cartilage (one in each knee). The surgeries went as well as could be expected. Dr. Heithoff and his staff have always been and continue to be kind, considerate, informative, and helpful. I could not be more satisfied." -- Kathryn T.”
–“"My son Kyle and daughter Aubyrn have been seen by Dr. Scott Heithoff for separate incidents. Kyle (13) had a knee injury sustained while playing basketball. Dr. Heithoff recommended physical therapy. Kyle was referred to Mark Muzzarelli for treatment. Mark was very thorough, setting up a rigid physical therapy routine that would increase Kyle’s strength. We are very happy with the results. Kyle will have to continue what he has learned from Mark to maintain his strength and we are thankful for the knowledge we attained to keep our son healthy. Aubyrn (11) had a solid break in her left humorous. Concerned with her age and activity level, Dr. Heithoff casted her arm for a few weeks, and then had her in a sling with limited movement. Her arm is healing nicely and she is back to her old self-playing basketball, dancing, and riding horses. Thank you to Dr. Heithoff and the entire staff at Orthopedic Associates of Port Huron for taking care of our family." -- Tina V.”
– Tina“"It all started seventeen years ago with my first visit. I saw Dr. Kreis for knee surgery. Everything went great. Unfortunately I injured myself again, and this time Dr. Scott Heithoff was my doctor. With a couple screws, some tape, and several visits later, I was once again treated. However this time it was not an injury, but arthritis that has brought me back to Orthopedic Associates of Port Huron. Drs. Wilmont Kreis and Scott Heithoff have been making sure that I am as comfortable as I can be until I have my hip replacement done. Thank you OA!" -- Donald H.”
– Donald“"Dr. Scott Heithoff has given me my life back. At the age of 47, my right hip had to be replaced due to an injury and arthritis. I remember crying in the office and having to go through this surgery and not knowing what to expect. After the loss of my father days before my surgery, I was not mentally prepared. Dr. Scott Heithoff knew this and was very patient with me. Seven months later, I finally had the surgery and just after two weeks I was back in the water at the YMCA for therapy. In the past three years I haven’t had any issues with my right hip and was able to hike four mountains in four days in Vermont, x-ski, snowshoe, walk a 13-minute mile, bike, and take on a second career of teaching water aerobics at the YMCA. I am now scheduled for my left hip replacement. I know what I have to do to get strong again and I will thanks to Dr. Scott Heithoff's great expertise. I trust him and his staff 100%." -- Kathy L.”
